Note: The above CD is from a documentary filmed in 1965, but witheld/lost until the 20teens. Charlie Is My Darling was filmed at
concerts in Ireland and the travels between there and London. It was actually shown at a film festival in 1966, but legal issues
(Allen Klein, natch) kept it hidden for decades. This CD is just the concert material.

Is this The Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band In The World©'s best evah record? Some critics will argue that this record culminated the Stones' string of five of the best rock albums ever made (not including the octagon). Other critics are flat wrong (although, truth be told, Mick thinks the mixes are muddy—to me that's part of the greatness). There is no way in hell that this two-record set could be left out of this compendium. Was is possible to top Sticky Fingers? Yup. Combining down 'n' dirty blues with poignant ballads, The Stones pull it off with ease. And Keith get a lead vocal, too! |
