Gotta Start Somewhere...

Tom & Jerry
Hey, Schoolgirl / Dancin' Wild
Graph-Landis (2:15) / Graph-Landis (2:17)
Big 613, 11/57 BB

Note: Paul & Artie [as Tom Graph & Jerry Landis] released this single in late '57. Together and separately (and under a variety of names,
like Jerry Landis, True Taylor, and Tico & The Triumphs), there were over a dozen early singles that would really clutter up this section.
This is the best known 45. This list at 45Cat has them all!

Simon sez solo career

There was a lot a troubled water during the last years of the Simon & Garfunkel partnership.
After recording that bridge album, Artie went to Hollywood to try a career in movies (sorta successful? Catch-22, Carnal Knowledge).
And Paul brought out a basketful of songs he'd been stockpiling and started a highly regarded solo career, starting with this, his second solo album (see 1965 for the first!)
