Catching Up With The Past
Jethro Tull started out as a typical British blues band and made a dramatic change once Mick Abrahams quit. Ian Anderson's folk and artsy side took over and we were blessed with Aqualung, Thick As A Brick, and Passion Play.
The group had a bunch of 45s and an EP laying around and decided to gather them all up into an elaborate package, complete with 12-page booklet chock full of photos. The two-record set featured a trio of previously unreleased tracks and one side from their November 4, 1971 benefit concert for Phoenix House at Carnegie Hall (complete concert released for RSD in 2015, above). The UK-only EP Life Is A Long Song makes up most of side four.
