Did you know The Allmans were the last band to play at the Fillmore East ??

Duane Allman 10/29/71, Atlanta, motorcycle accident
Berry Oakley died in a similar motorcycle accident, 11/11/72

Farewell, Skydog

This is the last album that featured new studio recordings with brother Duane. It was being recorded at the time of his accident. Mountain Jam was a long arrangement based on Donovan's First There Is A Mountain and was recorded at the Fillmore East (along with One Way Out and Trouble No More). Little Martha is a delightful duet with Dicky. This album officially ended The Allman Brothers Band (for most folks, although Greg carried the name on for decades).

This is one CD reissue you should get a used copy of. It features the complete Allman Brothers Band at their height and at the private closing concert of the Fillmore East. A truly remarkable show.
